kokkuri-sanIt is said that Kokkuri-san is the magic to summon the spirit and ask it questions. But it isn't Japanese traditional magic actually. Its origin is 'table turning' of Western stage magic. According to Miyatake Gaikotsu, an american sailor show it to people in Shimoda at the beginning of the twentieth century. They regarded it as spritual phenomenon by fox. Well, kokkuri means fox. |
