mizuko

means a miscarried children. In Japan, there is the tradition of mizuko kuyou, or a mass for a miscarried child. Incidentally, ghosts of unfertilized spermatozoa appeared in Haniya Yutaka's long novel "Shirei" (Death Sprits, 1946-1996) and also Uchida Hyakken's short novel (both are not horror but serious literature).
