As Similarly new "Gamera" series and "Evangelion", the film makers of this film tried to re-construct the kaijuu movie or the robot animation which they used to watch since their childhood till now.
Kawamata, a hero of "D", was OTAKU for the arms. He joined the Russian Army with his friend Matsuzaki. So they stole the COMBATSUITS which was the armed suits weapon just like GUNDUM. Kawamata returned to Japan. But he couldn't use it because Having and Using the weapon is banned in japan legally. So Kawamata was practicing to use the COMBATSUITS secretly in the basement. Of course, he wasn't satisfied.
One day, the giant green monster appeared in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Kawamata understood that he gave a chance to try the bility of the COMBATSUITS. He went to Shinjuku and began to make war against the monster. He killed the monster, but more forty passers-by became entangled and died in trouble unfortunately.
The respresentation of this massacre sequence as expressive as "Gamera 3". Gamera couldn't kill a little boy and his mother, But Kawamata hit gory the head of a blameless mother who was saving her child from the monster.
After a monster battle, Kawamata was sentenced to death for massacre in the street and using hard weapon.
But, a year later, Kawamata was released from prison on a special mission of the Japanese Government.
Space monsters often attacked Japan, and ate many people brutally. So the Japanese Govenment decided to let Kawamata fight the space monsters with his COMBATSUITS.
It was officially announced that Kawamata had been excuted.
One day, the meteorite fell to the chicken yard near Tokyo. The thing like amoeba (or BLOB? GOKE?) came from the meteorite and possessed a chicken. It metemorphosed a chiken into a giant chicken monster. It ate the farmers and went to the recreation ground for feeds.
When Tanaka, a chief of anti-monster department, ordered Kawamata to kill the chicken monster, Kawamata was dead deink. But he fighted falteringly against the monster. In the battle, Kawamata threw out in the COMBATSUITS. The chicken monster attacked him and bited off his arm and leg with parts of armour suits. Though Kawamata fainted away, but a part of the COMBATSUITS exploded itself within the chicken monster. We learn a precious lesson that even super hero sometimes gets mortally injured.
Kawamata got an artificial arm and leg. As ever, the space monsters was attacking the world, and Kawamata was fighting against them. But Kawamata got tired of the battle. So he was determined to resign his post in favor of a prison-mate named Iba. Iba showed an interest in the COMBATSUITS when they were in the prison.
For Kawamata instructed the operation of the COMBATSUITS, a Russian came to Japan. His name was Sergei. He had been a superior officer of Kawamata when Kawamata was in the Russian Army. Sergei could operate another COMBATSUITS. He attacked and killed Kawamata and stole a sample of the space ameoba from the basement of Kawamata's house. But the space ameoba possessed the Sergei with the COMBATSUITS. Sergei was metemorphosed into the COMBUT monster and ate up his men in Yokohama. Iba got on Kawamata's COMBUTSUITS and went to Yokohama. And then, Iba heard the Kawamata's advice through the wireless radio. Why? Wasn't Kawamata dead? Kawamata was alive. His body was dead, but his brain only escaped death by Tanaka. Tanaka meant Kawamata to become the operation adviser for Iba. Kawamata found the truth that Iba was Tanaka's man always. What a poor super hero he was!
The creators of this film forced the hero to meet the actual bitterness. Today super hero is in a painful position.
