Yamagishi Ryouko

She is a cartoonist. Her horror comics, for example "Watashi no ningyou wa yoi ningyou" (trans. "My doll is a good doll") and "shio no koe" (trans. Voice of a tide") seem to have a great influence on J horror movies. In fact, Nakata Hideo had planned to film her her "Watashi no ningyou wa yoi ningyou".
